Policy

Phase 1 Orientation is required for all new undergraduate degree-seeking students. Individuals with disabilities sign up for the regularly scheduled Orientation sessions just as their non-disabled peers. Eligible students with disabilities may take the placement tests in an alternate format.

Procedure

Requests for assistance during new student orientation, including accommodations for placement tests, should be made in writing and sent to the Office of Disability Services (ODS) three weeks prior to Phase 1 Orientation.

Specific requirements needed to fulfill accommodation requests are found in the Orientation Invitation. Only those students who have provided proper documentation and have been determined eligible will be given accommodations. The ODS, Phase 1 Orientation, and the Director of Testing work together to meet the needs of students with disabilities during orientation.
